thrift shop project

Sooner or later, everything will end up at a thrift store. I'm here to prove it.

Goodwill, Cambridge, MA

Turquoise Russel Wright Residential Platter, $1.99.
It's in wonderful condition with some minor surface marks. I think I'll do a side essay on Mr. Wright sometime...he's such an important figure in mid-century American design.

Pink Russel Wright Residential Vegetable Bowl, $1.50.
Another nice piece.

They look snazzy together.

Windsor Pink Melmac Creamer, $0.25.
Somerset Seafoam Green Melmac Creamer, $0.25.
I thought it would be cute to have individual watering things each of my houseplants. Now realize it would be stupid to have individual watering things for each of my houseplants.

Tales of a Sky-Blue Dress, Thylias Moss, $0.79.
Girl Meets God, Lauren F. Winner, $0.79.
Disgrace, J.M. Coetzee, $0.79.
Yet more books. Sometimes, when thrifting, if I see someone with a book I want/need to read, I get awfully PO'd.

Purple Forcing Vase, $1.49.
I broke one of the forcing vases pictured in the February 4, 2006 post. I still have paperwhite bulbs in the fridge, so will need this soon.

Five Balls 'Sascha' yarn by Schoeller Esslinger, $1.00.
It's a dusty pink color, 50 gr balls, 92% merino 8% Polymid. Who knows what it will become, but couldn't leave it. Nice yarn is quite a find.

Total: $9.24.

I love the table plattter. I am a 1950s kind of girl; plus a BIG fan of charity shops.

Well done on your bargain hunting!

Love these, my kitchen is an original 1940's, with light green paint(also original) and big crome hardware(also original) plus I have added these two colours as well! Great finds
